Carrera is happy to have our good friend, Tony Tirello hosting this great sip through Napa event. Many people think Napa is all about Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay, however, there are so many more varietals.
For this class, Tony will show some of the wonderful variety that Napa has to offer. You will have the opportunity to taste some special blends and different varietals. You'll also sample wines from a range of AVAs within Napa.
Tony is a wealth of knowledge. He will tell you even more about the wine playground known as Napa. Tony is a wonderful presenter. Our staff finds him informative and engaging, we know that you will, too!
Please join us and taste through the diversity that Napa has to offer. The cost for this class is $50 per person (tax & gratuity not included) wine club discount is allowed. Give us a call to reserve your spot. (904) 217-4751

No, this is not an April Fools joke, the owners of Mad Violets will be here Monday, April 1st!
It is our great pleasure and privilege to host this very special event. The owners of Mad Violet will be leading this tasting. The owners, Kelly Kidneigh and Stirling Fox not only craft the wines, but they also grow the grapes. Their small boutique winery is located in the northern Willamette Valley in Oregon. It is very much a small "hands-on" family business.
Mad Violets begin with a Leap of Faith when Stirling and Kelly decided to purchase a small vineyard named Buttonfield Estate Vineyards. The vineyard is located in Oregon on Chehalem Mountain. (By the way, Chehalem Mountain is one of the Hoosier Wine Guy's favorite AVA's in Oregon. They named their wine company for their two daughters: Madeline and Violet. They have kept the business very small. They are "hands-on" in every aspect of the business. The daughters even help out in the vineyards and winery.
You will not want to miss this one! Rarely do we have an opportunity to talk to owners, growers, and winemakers all rolled into one event. Our Hoosier Wine Guy will be all ears on this one. The price for this event is $40 (tax & gratuity not included) and wine club discount is allowed. Give us a call to reserve your spot.

Bottle Shock is a 2008 film loosely based on the 1976 wine competition, termed "Judgment of Paris". The "Judgement" in which California wine defeated French wine, in a blind taste test. The Judgement of Paris changed the course of the wine industry, especially in California.
The tasting pitted French White Burgundy, Chardonnay, against California Chardonnay and French Red Bordeaux against California Cabernet Sauvignon.
And now, Carrera would like to conduct its own "Judgement of Carrera". We will be having our own blind tasting using some of the same wines (that we can find) that were used in the original tasting in 1976, just not the same vintages. By the way, Chateau Montelana won the white wine category and Stag's Leap won the red wine category.
Our own California Wine Dude, Bob, and a good friend, Sophie De Beer, will conduct the tasting. Bob will present from the California side and Sophie will present from the French side. Please mark your calendars for this interesting and informative class on Thursday, April 18th and let us see if we agree with the 1976 results. The cost for this class is $55 and wine club discount is allowed. Bob recommends watching the film before coming to the class, if you can. It's available on Prime.
